i despise hardcore

It's funny how people get so protective of their sub-sub-sub-genres, when to Joe Punter on the street it also sounds the same. I find that a lot with dance related musics. "Progressive trance is so much better than industrial techno". But you ask aforementioned Mr Punter, and he'll tell you it all sounds like doof-doof music to him.

i listen to alot of things. i use that as justification for when i say 'hardcore sounds the same to me' that im not kidding. because i literally listen to alot of stuff that many people will say sounds the same to them.

also hardcore is shitty and has become a new trend yet its the worst out of all thus far. even worse than when people got angry at Korn for starting numetal which Slipknot used to get tons of 12 yr olds into metal. which i don't have a problem with.


but hardcore, literally, all bands just sound the same. and when most of the young local bands are all shitty hardcore too theres no local scene either, just crap. crap crap crap.
and yeah ive seen way more local bands than i care to remember. there are good ones dont get me wrong but.. woaaah..



edit: mind you i don't mind As I Lay Dying. and theres a wicked metalcore band called Machinemade God who i think are amazing and quite something.
so there are still some bands i'll listen to. but definately a sucky genre.

OMFG Your Dog i totally agree with you 100%. I don't care what people see in hardcore because really its just a piece of s***.
But in true fact people who listen to it try to think they're cool because they think bands like "Escape the Fate" and "Bullet for my Valentine" are awesome. But they are totally a bucket of s***. Breakdowns are just riffs that are heavy but aren't really.

It is hard to explain, music can be really complicated at times and bands especially progressive metal can be but i praise it because bands like Dream Theater and Opeth have that technical ability and force and actually know how to right music.
But core bands don't have the talent, sure they can do solos but in true fact they are just usually strumming fast and going up the fret from point A. to point B. over and over again.

So my point here is that core bands try to make themselves heavy and cool but in reality they are just a piece of s***.
