Is that an actual TV LCD? Does it have any input lag? Mine has a slight delay so I never bothered using it for games

32 inch LEd TV with both DVI,HDMI, and rbg input.... nil delay... I just seem to be staring at a wall of screen @ 150fps 1920x1080 all maxed out... kinda odd

Thanks to your post, I've been able to let free some sailors that were locked close to the stern of my boat. They jumped at the chance to free themselves. Unfortunately, my boat was drydocked and so they never got a chance to swim.

Oh, and my new computer set up..
Amd athlon 2 x2 250
2gb of 1600 ddr3
Radeon HD 5450
2 led lights for lighting
I spared no expense with cable ties.

I can play Duke Nukem 3d Atomic addition at 175fps and it runs full tilt poker pretty well. I also tried it with Parachutes emulation and it doesn't seem to have any trouble unlike before.

It's in there but I only have one stick. I may get another soon though but there's really no need as I don't want to run Vista or anything more complicated than DVDs

You know they had a CM Cosmos X custom case once with airsprayed tribal and side window, I never manage to find any of them left in stock. It was worth I think $400 or something, those Cosmos case are real nice.

BTW, is that a Garrett T30/40 turbo? How many PSI you running on that car?

Well I got them all hooked up but TBH I'm not that impressed with them.

Without touching any effects, DSP or EQ settings in the soundcard software - only selecting the number of speakers to use, I put in my favourite MUSE CD and they sounded muffled and boomy, so boomy that the boomy bass drowned out everything else - I couldn't even hear the vocals in any songs!

I quickly tested out all the EQ presets (all 10 or so of them) and the DSP options (music, games, hifi, movie, gx) and the headphones still sounded boomy and muffled. At this point I was not impressed and quite pissed to be honest.

So then I opened the manual up and had a read lol, and I found a section that said you can change the low frequency cutoff point for each speaker, so I set the cutoff to 200hz for the centre and rear speakers, 150hz for the front speakers and left the bass speakers alone - this fixed some of the sound and I could hear the vocals again (albeit, they were still being drowned out a fair bit).

So I had a squizz at the EQ settings, and went through making a few changes until the vocals cut through and the boomy bass disappeared. It took a bit of fiddling, but now they sound good.

I suspect most of the sound problems might be that I need to burn in the speakers in the headset - so I'll post an update when I clock up a couple hundred hours of music and gaming on them.

It's weird though, because the Medusa's just worked straight out the box - plug them in, balance the volume in each speaker, and you're off gaming and enjoying them - maybe they go through a burn in process before they are packaged? The Roccat Kave's took far too long to get to an acceptable point, and needed quite a bit of EQ tinkering to remove the majority of the boomy bass so that you could hear the rest of the frequencies (ie. the ones that count in game so you can hear s***, like when the sneaky f*** of an enemy is about to knife you in the head).

Saying all that, once the boomy bass is sorted, they perform well, and in games that have a 5.1 or surround sound option, they do a remarkable job at directional sound. To explain how they work in games, the best I can explain it is: with stereo headphones you have an idea that there is an enemy somewhere behind you to the right - with 5.1 and that same enemy, you know he is at 4 o'clock, changing his clip, walking over dirt and facing your direction. You honestly have a much better idea of where and what the enemy is doing. Whether that helps you or not depends on your reactions and ability :P

The only other comment about them that I have so far is that the cups squeeze tour fukn head and after a short amount of time the padding that rests on your head feels like it is digging a hole into your skull - you end up with dents in your head from the padding and a headache from the cups sq1ueezing your head. Hopefully after a little more use they'll stretch and wear to suit my head lol - at the moment though, they feel like they are made for kids with small heads.

I'll give them a couple of weeks for the speakers to burn in properly, which should also allow the headset to stretch/wear a little, and I'll post an update. If they still hurt my head or sound boomy, they'll be going in the draw and I'll be buying a new set of Medusa's lol.
